How often do I water my new landscape cactus?
It can vary based on the species, exposure, and location. Generally speaking, water once per week in the summer and long enough where the water penetrates 12″ deep into the soil. Always allow the soil to dry before watering again.
After a few summers or until the cacti is established, water once every ten days. Most of my large native plants receive rainwater only. Most cactus prefer dry soils during the winter months. Don’t kill cactus with kindness and less is more!
